The American Airman Podcast is hosted by Rick Riggin…. Yup, that’s me. I am a Veteran of the United States Air Force. I served as a jet engine mechanic on the A-10 (Warthog) aircraft from 6 Sept 2001 to 5 Sept 2005. Aerospace Propulsion Journeyman for all of you who want the military term. After basic training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Tx, I did 7 months of tech school at Sheppard AFB in Witchita Falls, Tx. You Air Force guys know this story. After basic and tech school my permanent was the 355th CMS at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, Az.
I am an avid Fighting Irish fan, and feel that college football is King of all sports. There’s just more passion in college football than there is in the NFL. Im also a fan Indiana Hoosiers, and the Atlanta Braves.
I’m doing this podcast because of my passion for sports and the military. My goal is to include our men and women of our armed services on my weekly sports show to talk service and sports. I also talk about pop culture, video games, beer, etc … so it’s really more of a variety show.
